Bobbi Kristina Brown News Update: Neurosurgeon Talks Bobbi Kristina's Condition

Bobbi Kristina Brown has recently been moved from an Atlantan hospital to a long-term care facility and is still in a medically induced coma after being discovered face-down in a bathtub at her home in Georgia on Jan. 31. A medical expert recently told the media that the daughter of the late singer, Whitney Houston, could remain that way indefinitely.

Dr. Mark Liker, Medical Director and Neurosurgeon of Dignity Health Northridge Hospital, speaking about his thoughts on the condition of Bobby Brown's daughter.

"I don't know where she stands right now," the medical professional told Extra on Friday.

"If she is not able to respond, then the physical therapy is usually performed on a regular basis and it is limited to range of motion exercises, so they will move her arms and legs just so her legs and arms don' go into permanent contraction."

Sharing his insights further, Liker said that the people who are taking care of Bobbi should administer "continually or frequently" impulses "from the legs to the brain" in order to "keep the brain as responsive as possible."

This could, Liker added, "give her better function over time" as well as "better recovery."

Dr. Liker went on to share his sympathy, not only for Bobbi's loved ones but also to fans and supporters waiting for development.

"I tell families you just have to wait and you have to be very patient. This is not a day-to-day thing," he said. "You will not see changes day-to-day, you may not even see change week-to-week, it may come more slowly, and I'm sure that the facility is doing the best they can in terms of rehabilitation and ways to help her."
