'Bones' Season 11 News, Update: Showrunners Pitch Top Reasons Why Viewers Shouldn't Miss The Upcoming 'Sleepy Hollow' Crossover Episode

The highly-anticipated and talked-about crossover episode between "Bones" Season 11 and "Sleepy Hollow" Season 3 is about to take place this week in the David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel-fronted forensic drama series.

Titled "The Resurrection in the Remains," the spoiler report from Cartermatt reveals that followers of both shows will find Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie) and Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) from "Sleepy Hollow" paying Dr. Brennan (Deschanel) and Booth (Boreanaz) a visit at the Jeffersonian.

Their goal is to help each other crack the puzzling case involving a 200-year-old corpse with a head that has gone missing. What's interesting with the century-old remains is that it has a direct connection to a recent murder case. The report indicates that the two agents from the two "departments" will work hand in hand before they can proceed back to their own respective investigations.

The weirdness of the set-up, of course, will capture the attention of the Jeffersonian people who thinks that the whole thing is just part of an elaborate Halloween costume party or rather specifically, a "cosplay competition."

"Nice coat," Booth quipped as he admires Crane's colonial-esque garb.

Talking to the Hollywood Reporter, showrunners Jonathan Collier (Bones) and Clifton Campbell (Sleepy Hollow) both gave their pitches as to why fans shouldn't miss this special episode event.

"There's nothing not fun and entertaining about these two hours," Collier said (via THR). "It's an adventure that we normally wouldn't get to see these characters take."

Campbell, on his part, made remarks on how significant the crossover project is for him.

"It lands emotionally for us and there's really fun moments at the end where all four of them look at each other and go, 'Yeah, that's kind of cool. We should do this again some day,'" he said.

The "Bones" Season 11 and "Sleepy Hollow" Season 3 crossover event commences this Thursday, Oct. 29, at 8 p.m. on Fox.
