Judge keeps death penalty on table
3. Prosecution claims Robinson killed Kirk because 'he disagreed with him'
Deputy Utah County Attorney Ryan McBride argued that Tyler Robinson plotted to murder Charlie Kirk on Sept. 10, 2025, “because he disagreed with him.” McBride noted that Kirk engaged students in debates and promoted family values and other conservative viewpoints, which he claimed Robinson disagreed.
McBride told the court that "the defendant's views were repugnant to the positions that Charlie Kirk famously took," according to NBC News. He also highlighted the etchings on the bullet casings, with one such casing reading: "Hey fascist! Catch!" and one that referenced a Furry meme that read: "Notices Bulges OwO what's this?"
The murder suspect also reportedly stated in a message to his roommate and boyfriend that he killed the conservative activist because he'd had "enough of [Kirk's] hatred."
