'Chicago Justice' Spoilers: 'Law and Order' and 'SVU' Crossover Teased

"Chicago Justice" executive producer Michael Chernuchin teased another crossover that could take place somewhere down the line.

This involves some folks from the "Law and Order" universe popping by the new NBC series, which sprung from the Chicago franchise and is a direct spinoff of "Chicago P.D."

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Chernuchin hinted the possibility of having the two worlds created by Dick Wolf to collide in a future episode of "Chicago Justice."

"We actually talked for a brief second about having Sam [Waterston] come in, but we thought it was too early. But maybe in the future," he explained.

Waterston played the role of Executive Assistant District Attorney Jack McCoy in the fifth season of "Law and Order" up until the final season. Over the course of the series, McCoy became district attorney.

Chernuchin said it is not just McCoy they are looking to bring to "Chicago Justice" soon. "We're going to look at all our defense attorneys," he teased.

With regard to revisiting a case in "Law and Order" through "Chicago Justice," Chernuchin said that it will be difficult, but doable. He also said that a crossover with "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit" could be on the horizon too.

"It would be hard because of the jurisdictional problem but I have a way to do it and it actually would be a way to kind of bring in SVU," the EP said. "It wouldn't be this season; it would have to be next season," he went on to say.

Chernuchin definitely has a lot of big plans for "Chicago Justice." For now, however, fans should focus on tonight's episode, "See Something," airing 10 p.m. ET on NBC. The synopsis reads:

"When a Muslim grad student is brutally murdered, Stone (Philip Winchester) and the team arrest his friend, another Muslim student, who claims he committed murder to prevent a terrorist attack. The jury must decide whether he's a killer or a hero."
