Christian Bikers Join Angel Tree to Break the Cycle of Crime

Prison Fellowship’s Angel Tree and Fellowship Riders, Inc., Partner to Help Bring Hope to Children of Prisoners Across the Country

Prison Fellowship and Fellowship Riders, Inc., have announced a new partnership to reach out to the more than two million children of prisoners across the country through Prison Fellowship’s Angel Tree program.

“We are excited about the opportunity to work with Prison Fellowship to help meet the needs of children of prisoners,” said Jeff Means, president of Fellowship Riders, Inc. after the announcement earlier this month. ”Last Christmas, we delivered over 1,500 Christmas gifts to children of Texas prisoners, and this year we look forward to ministering to children across the country through our growing number of national affiliates.”

According to U.S. News & World Report, prisoners’ children are the most severely at-risk children and youth in America. Studies indicate that children of prisoners are five times more likely to end up in prison themselves.

“Through Prison Fellowship’s Angel Tree, churches are offering life-changing opportunities for children of prisoners. Working together with Fellowship Riders, we can help break the cycle of crime,” stated Prison Fellowship President Mark Earley.

Angel Tree is a year-round ministry of Prison Fellowship that equips local churches to deliver Christmas gifts to prisoners’ children, send them to summer camp, and match children with a caring adult mentor—thus helping the children of prisoners begin to heal the pain of being separated from mom or dad.

Fellowship Riders, a non-profit Christian organization that assists local churches in establishing motorcycle ministries, will work with Prison Fellowship’s Angel Tree nationally to help distribute gifts, serve as mentors, and raise awareness for the need to reach out to the most at-risk group of children in America.
