Cowell Prank 911 Call: Police Rush to Simon Cowell's Home After Duct Tape Report

Simon Cowell has been the victim of a prank 911 call. A prankster apparently called emergency services reporting there to be an emergency at the Cowell residence, sparking authorities to travel around to the X-Factor judge's home to ensure everything was alright.

The unidentified caller had said that someone in the Cowell residence had been tied up with duct tape and needed emergency assistance.

Lincoln Hoshino of the Beverly Hills Police Department has said, "The caller reported that someone within the house had been tied up with duct tape and needed assistance."

However, it appears as though the caller was just a prankster with a bad sense of humor, and when police arrived at the alleged scene they found no incident and confirmed the call as a prank.

Hoshino added, "The call was so ridiculously done it had no credibility with the dispatcher … The dispatcher immediately suspected it was a fake."

However, authorities have to treat every report seriously and the dispatcher still sent around police officers to check out the residence just to be on the safe side.

But it is not the first time that there has been reported trouble at the Cowell residence. Just earlier this year in March Simon Cowell's London home was broken into by a woman. The intruder used a brick to smash a window and gain entry into his residence.

Police were immediately called and when they arrived they found the woman hiding in a closet holding the brick she used to smash the window with. The intruder was charged and later pleaded guilty to "possessing a brick with intent to damage or destroy property."
