'Daredevil' Season 2 Cast News, Update: Jason Statham to Join the Marvel Netflix Series?
Charlie Cox could be standing opposite to another British actor when he returns for the second season as the titular character in the hit Netflix action series "Daredevil."
A report from Latino-Review cited their "trusted source" inside Marvel's new TV production offices who said that "The Transporter" film franchise star Jason Statham is "being pursued to play Bullseye" in the next installment of the scripted program from studio and the streaming service.
"Our spies spotted him meeting with Marvel personnel earlier this week while taking a break from the press tour for Spy," the site claimed.
The media outlet, however, noted that this information "is not yet confirmed" as representatives from both firms haven't given their word yet on the issue.
Statham was actually in talks to appear in a cinematic reboot of Daredevil right before the rights to the character was reverted to Marvel.
In fact, back in 2008, the "Furious 7" actor expressed his desire to play as the "Man Without Fear" during an interview done with the people from the LA Times.
"Could a British actor wear the red horns of the Man Without Fear? … Absolutely, just give me the chance, I would love to be Daredevil," the 47-year-old actor said.
In addition to Bullseye, it has also been rumored that Elektra could potentially be introduced in Season 2 based on the previously reported leaked audition tapes by two actors for the said character.
"Marvel's Daredevil" Season 2 is set to begin its production phase at the end of June or early July and will return to Netflix in 2016.
