'Daredevil' Season 2 News: Exclusive Premiere Preview Teases Action Scene With The Punisher

The excitement and anticipation for the return of Netflix's hit superhero drama series "Daredevil" cannot be contained as new details for Season 2 have emerged in the past few days.

Just this week, a slew of Twitter posts from user Comic News shows what appears to be a scan of magazine pages showcasing The Man Without Fear (Charlie Cox), The Punisher (Jon Bernthal), and Elektra (Elodie Yung).

The first shot reveals the blind vigilante getting all tied up in a post. Hovering over him is Frank Castle who can also be seen holding a gun and a wrench. The two seem to not be in a pleasant state of acquaintance.

The second image shared offers a closer look of Matt Murdock's potential future/past love interest, Elektra. Not much has been told about the latter, but the Twitter photo managed to capture a short description which may refer to the woman as a "lethal love interest."

To offer a better look into the new installment, James Hibberd from Entertainment Weekly visited the New York set of the show earlier this December. The media outlet was given the opportunity to get a sneak peek at the first two episodes of the Marvel hit TV series.

As described by the publication, the new season will open up with an action scene featuring the new Hell's Kitchen player, The Punisher. This is in contrast to the first season where it took a handful of episodes before the main villain, Kingpin (Vincent D' Onofrio), was introduced.

"The advantage of any sequel is you can dive right in," new showrunner Doug Petrie told EW. "We hit the ground running and then we ran as fast as we f—ing could."

For the uninitiated, Frank Castle is a soldier who has a very painful past when his family got killed by the city's criminal organization. Donning up a new identity and armed with sophisticated weapons for killing, the Punisher vows to cleanse the city.

Despite the intention, his methods of bringing justice come in conflict with the Daredevil's ideals.

Netflix and Marvel have yet to announce the official premiere date for "Daredevil" Season 2. Stay tuned for more updates.
