Down Syndrome Girl Gets Rescued From Bullies by Her Team – This is Awesome!
This Down Syndrome teen, Desiree Andrews, is a cheerleader for a basketball team at a junior high. While cheering to her own beat at a game, people in the stands started saying cruel things to her. But, that didn't last long. Her team stepped off the court and did something amazing!
People in the stands, from the other team were saying cruel things because she was Down Syndrome. That does not make her different from everyone else. God loves us all and created us equally, as one of the boys' stated in the interview. The players on the team didn't allow is to last long. They did something truly noble to defend her. Stepping away from the game to show respect and defend her from these bullies.
These boys are true gentlemen, and their act of courage will touch your heart. Not only that, they decided to name the gym after Desiree. Wow!
