Ferrari 812 Superfast Release Date, Specs News: V12 Engine Makes Sports Car the Most Powerful Ferrari Ever
Ferrari has unveiled the 812 Superfast, touted as the most powerful and fastest vehicle that the Italian sports car manufacturer has ever created. It is a special model that commemorates the Ferrari V12's 70th anniversary and will make its world premiere at the 87th Geneva International Motor Show next month.
The mid-front-engine sports car is powered by a new 6.5-liter 12-cylinder powertrain that delivers 789 horsepower and 530 pound-feet. It can go from 0 to 62 miles per hour (mph) in just 2.9 seconds and attains a top speed of 211 mph. The engine is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The overall result is a two-seat supercar that delivers an uncompromising and exhilarating driving experience — regardless of whether the driver is on the road or on the track.
It is the first Ferrari vehicle to be equipped with Electric Power Steering and innovative features include the automaker's proprietary Side Slip Control for easier handling and the Virtual Short Wheelbase 2.0 system. Meanwhile, aerodynamic function has been integrated to the active flaps and rear flank to increase downforce.
In terms of design, the Ferrari 812 Superfast has sporty proportions and a sleek fastback silhouette. The lower spoiler and cabin also give the sports car a broad and imposing stance. The vehicle comes with Full-LED headlights, sculpted air intakes on the bonnet and four round taillights.
The supercar comes in a special color called Rosso Settanta, which was created just for the company's 70th anniversary.
Despite powerful performance and aggressive exterior styling, the 812 Superfast's cabin delivers exceptional levels of comfort. The interiors also have sporty and sculpted aesthetics with some elements like the horizontal dashboard having a "floating" appearance. The sports car is also equipped with ergonomic sports seats, a new steering wheel, instrument cluster, the latest infotainment system and upgraded air-conditioning units.
The Ferrari 812 Superfast will be on display at the Geneva Motor Show, scheduled from March 9 to 19.
