'Grand Theft Auto 6': Not going to happen anytime soon, details remain rumors

Avid fans of the 'Grand Theft Auto" series are still waiting for the release of the sixth installment after the major success that the fifth one garnered. But while there are several reports already about the most awaited game, some of the information released remain as rumors.

One of those rumors is regarding the female playable character. Previous reports from other sites had in fact issued articles saying that GTA co-creator Dan Houser thought about including a female character. But it's now found out that it wasn't really necessary for GTA 6. Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling being part of the game also remains a speculation. But since there are no official details regarding the upcoming installment, then it's possible that the celebrities' involvement is merely a hoax.

The latest one to hit the news will definitely make the fans a bit unhappy. According to MNR Daily, the developers of "Grand Theft Auto" have released a statement regarding GTA 6. They said that their company policy prevents them from releasing a game every year. And if indeed Rockstar games have already started developing the game, it will most likely still to arrive in 2018.

The source also cited Leslie Benzies, president of Rockstar North and lead developer of the iconic "Grand Theft Auto" series. He stated that the reason why the company came up with a policy not to release a game every year is so that they can have ample time to efficiently develop an excellent game. If not, they might just end up giving away a sequel game that is poor in quality because they rushed production. It may cause lots of fans to be unsatisfied with their work, ruining their long-time reputation of making the best games.

And if 2018 sounds so far away already, Neuro Gadget reports that Rockstar might release GTA 6 in 2020 to make sure that they will be able to come up with the best sequel to its very successful predecessor. GTA V hit a record of selling $1 billion worth of copies in just three days. If the expected release date is true, it may still be worth the wait.
