'HTGAWM' Spoilers: Laurel's Backstory to Be Revealed in Season 4

When ABC's hit crime drama "How to Get Away with Murder" returns with all-new episodes, viewers will finally hear Laurel Castillo's (Karla Souza) story, which is key to understanding why her father had her baby's father Wes Gibbons (Alfred Enoch) murdered.

In an interview with TV Line, executive producer Pete Nowalk shared a few details about the upcoming season.

"This is the perfect way to reveal more of where [Laurel] comes from," Nowalk said. "It will make a lot of sense why he ordered Wes to be killed. It's fun to dig more into what Laurel's backstory is and create a mystery around her family."

Laurel is up for some shocking revelations this season, that is, if she ever finds out Wes was killed under her father's orders.

Nowalk told The Hollywood Reporter that the season starts with whether Laurel suspects her dad of killing Wes. And if she does, what will she do about it?

While Annalise (Viola Davis), after getting beat up by the public's scrutiny, believes that it is best to let things go, Laurel could pursue the search for Wes' murderer.

Elsewhere next season, Laurel will decide whether she wants to keep her unborn child.

As for the rest of the gang, Asher (Matt McGorry) and Michaela (Aja Naomi King) will be living together while Connor (Jack Fallahee) and Oliver (Conrad Ricamora) might be getting engaged. To note, the preceding season ended without revealing Connor's answer to Oliver's proposal.

Annalise is also trying to rebuild her life. Although she will continue to practice law, she might leave the academe for good.

Will she say goodbye to her precious students whom she had vowed to protect?

Fans will get their answers when "How to Get Away with Murder" season 4 returns on Thursday, Sept. 28 at 10 p.m. EDT on ABC.
