iPad Air 2 vs. Nexus 9 Comparative Review: Which One Suits You Best?
Two of the largest companies in the tech world, Google and Apple, recently released their newest tablets, the Google Nexus 9 and the iPad Air 2.
Although of a different scale (OS and Market-wise) people can't help it but compare which of the two is better than the other. We rounded up reviews of the specs and essential details about the iPad Air 2 and Nexus 9.
The first thing to point out is the design and display. The Apple product is seen with a sleek and sturdy aluminum body which measures 6.1 mm in thickness. The Google tablet is thicker than about 2.8 mm than its rival.
The display of the iPad Air 2 undoubtedly wowed the fans with its 9.7 inches (LED-Backlit IPS LCD) with a resolution of 1536 x 2048 pixels and 264 ppi. The Nexus 9 arrives with a bit smaller 8.9-inches IPS LCD display while bearing the same resolution specs. However, the Google device has a much higher pixel density of 281 ppi.
Under the hood, the tablet from the Cupertino-based tech company runs on its latest Apple iOS 8 and is being processed by the new A8X processor on a 64-bit architecture coupled with a 2GB worth of RAM. On the other hand, the Nexus 9 runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS, the newest in town, powered by a dual core 2.3 GHz Nvidia Tegra K1 processor and 2GB RAM.
When talking about cameras, both devices boasts 8MP primary snappers with closely-related picture-taking enhancement features like autofocus, touch focus, as well as face detection.
Then comes the price: the iPad Air 2 16GB version starts at $499 while its 64GB version is at $599, and its 128GB comes at $699.
The Google Nexus 9, on the other hand, has two variants: 16GB, which costs $399, and 32GB, with a pricetag of $479.
