iPhone 6S, 6S Plus Release Date, Specs News: Apple Books 7,000-seater Auditorium for Unveiling Event?

The highly anticipated unveiling of the new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus could be much larger than what was expected.

Taking hints from earlier reports, the iPhone 6s event was expected to be revealed on September 9 at San Francisco's Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. The venue is said to be capable of holding around 755 people.

However, new reports came in this week indicating that the Cupertino-based tech giant may have some other bigger venue in mind. Citing the San Francisco blog site Hoodline, the report from Business Insider said that an unnamed person has booked the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium for the duration which runs from September 4th to the 13th for a private "trade event." According to the site, the massive venue boasts a 7,000-seater space and is located in the center of San Francisco's Civic Center zone.

A huge number of San Francisco Police Department officers and private security guards were also spotted doing security protocols around the perimeter. In fact, the sidewalks that flanked the Civic Auditorium were being cut off from the public.

Additionally, gigantic power generators are being installed on the Larkin Street side of the building. The enormous fixtures consequently took up "a lane of parking spots."

Furthermore, it is said that four of the building's windows facing the Grove Street will be removed to make way for a "15-foot-tall fiberboard logo" which is planned to be hanged on the exterior of the building.

The documents revealing the design of the purported logo happens to look like an oddly-drawn star. However, it could just be something that the Apple Watch maker is using to mislead the public.

Needless to say, it is yet to be confirmed if it is actually the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus maker who is reserving the space. However, the dates specified by the leak perfectly fits with the aforementioned release date. It also fits with the company's penchant for secrecy, Business Insider added.

Stay tuned for more updates.
