Jars of Clay Gets Creative With Fan Cell Phone Video
NEW YORK – The award-winning Christian group Jars of Clay has created its most unique music video, one consisting completely of its fans’ cell phone videos.
The video is set to their hit single “Dead Man (Carry Me),” and was shot by enthusiastic crowds at three west coast concerts in November as part of their Mobile Mash Up contest.
“We knew this couldn't be just another music video produced in Hollywood by some famous, over-priced director,” explained the band in a recent blog, “no, we decided to spice things up a bit!”
At each of the concerts, fans were invited to come to the front parts of the stage during the performance of their featured song. The Jars of Clay buffs then let their cell phone cameras roll, catching the performance from a variety of angles.
Participants then sent in their footage to the band where it was reassembled into a full length music video.
The band is currently on a national tour that will run through Apr. 15, ending in New York City. They are joined by alternative Christian rock group NEEDTOBREATHE and eclectic group Burlap to Cashmere.
Jars of Clay is known to be an innovative band with music styles ranging from rock to pop to folk/acoustic. The new video reflects their creativity.
