4 key moments from Joe Rogan's interview with JD Vance

Profanity in the Vance household

Reflecting on his upbringing, Vance spoke fondly of his grandmother, saying she was "a very devout Christian, but she also had ... a language that would make a sailor blush."

He explained that his upbringing contributed to his own colorful speech, attributing it to the influence of his grandmother, who he described as "a force of nature."

Vance told Rogan that a rule established by his wife allowed their children to swear only in specific contexts in what, for many, was a relatable moment of parenting.

"I early on, I told my kids you can swear in front of us ... but don't swear in front of other parents and don't swear for no reason,” he said.

Vance shared one anecdote about his daughter, recalling a skiing trip when she was just 2 years old.
