Judge Adds to Casey Anthony Prison Sentence Following Miscalculation
A simple miscalculation has added four days to the sentence of Casey Anthony, after Judge Perry originally sentenced Anthony to one year for each of the four counts of lying. The new calculation means Anthony will be released on July 17.
“With time served and credit for good behavior, she is now due out on her 1007th day in jail,” said Orange County Correction officials.
Perry met with attorneys on both sides to determine exactly how much time she should be given credit.
In addition, Judge Perry is charging a fine of $1,000 for each lie that Anthony told; “The lies caused law enforcement to devote extensive resources in their search” said Perry.
The 25 year-old woman was recently acquitted after being charged with killing her two year-old daughter, Caylee.
Caylee’s body was found in December 2008, exactly six months after she was reported missing. Once a report was filed, Anthony was questioned by police and made false statements that led to her conviction.
