'NBA 2K18': How Will Next Installment Differ From Current Version?

'NBA 2K18' is expected to be released sometime in September

Basketball fans can expect "NBA 2K18" to be made available later this year, but the ways in which this new installment of the franchise will be different from the one available currently have still yet to be revealed.

Fans already have numerous suggestions lined up, however, focusing on the different ways in which gameplay can be improved further.

Over on Reddit, fans have pointed out the different issues that can pop up over the course of playing a basketball game that they would like to have addressed, such as unnecessary rule violations that are triggered mainly because of flawed mechanics as opposed to the players actually committing errors.

Other Redditors have put forth suggestions for MyPlayer-related tweaks that could help improve the experience of going through this mode.

Another suggestion, this one made by "RelRel35," is also pretty intriguing, as it asks developers to reintroduce the D-League.

Notably, developers already added some league expansion features in "NBA 2K17," giving players more customization options that could allow them to enjoy the game the way they want to. Reintroducing the D-League would help provide an even more comprehensive experience as they go through the MyGM mode, and it could pave the way for more sensible expansion features to be added as well.

Also expected to change in "NBA 2K18" is the game's cover, and in a recent article, Forbes contributor Brian Mazique identified five players who could be in the running to land that coveted spot, ranging from MVP candidates James Harden, Kawhi Leonard and Russell Westbrook, to 2016 NBA Finals Game 7 hero Kyrie Irving and newly minted Hall of Famer Allen Iverson.

It is also worth noting that one significant change has already been confirmed for the upcoming basketball game, as it will also be calling a new platform home, with that being the Nintendo Switch.

An exact release date for "NBA 2K18" has not been announced just yet, though the game is expected to be made available sometime in September.
