NBA 2015 News, Rumors: Miami Heat's Dwayne Wade to Miss All-Star Game

After relatively strong gameplay this season, Miami Heat's Dwayne Wade was called to play for the NBA All-Star Game which is scheduled this Sunday. However, recent news indicated that the Heat guard might miss it as he opts to nurse an injury instead.

A report from BleacherReport.com cited Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press announcing on his social media that "Dwayne Wade will not play in All-Star Game" due to a strained right hamstring which kept him in the bench for the last six games.

ESPN meanwhile added to the news saying that Atlanta Hawk's Kyle Korver was selected to take Wade's place in the Eastern Conference All-Star team.

"The Heat fans deserve for me to get on the court with the Heat first than be out seven games and then play in the All-Star Game," Wade told ESPN. "I wasn't going to play much either way it goes. The smartest thing to do will be to use this All-Star break and strengthen myself a little more for the second-half push."

The sports website added that fans will likely see the baller getting back into action this Feb. 20 game against the New York Knicks.

"I look forward to, after the break, coming back for the guys, getting a practice [next] Wednesday and Thursday and getting ready to play Friday, just getting ready to understand the last 30 games, we've got some good some basketball we have to play if we want to play further, in April and May," informed the reporters.

Meanwhile, for this Thursday's encounter with the Cavaliers, Wade confirmed that he would travel with the team to Cleveland but not participate in the clash against their former teammate LeBron James.

"I could play but it would not be the smart thing to do," Wade told Yahoo! Sports.
