'Outlander' Season 3 Spoilers: New Images Provides First Look at Jamie and Claire's Lives Apart From Each Other

A bunch of first-look stills from "Outlander" season 3 has been released by Starz, giving fans an idea of what life looks like for Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) separated.

One of the images shows the latter's life having returned to 1948, where she and her first husband Frank (Tobias Menzies) reunite. Claire starts a family and they even have a child, as seen in the image.

Another "Outlander" season 3 image shows Claire walking, ignoring the fact that she is surrounded by dead bodies of men who appear to have taken part in a war.

The rest of the stills give a glimpse of Jamie's situation in "Outlander" season 3 and it is not good. As revealed in the past, the new season will feature the Battle of Culloden.

This is one of the changes from Diana Gabaldon's book, "Voyager," in which the third season of the time-travel drama is primarily based.

The "Outlander" season 3 images show Jamie in battle. There is one photo in which he is seen charging into the enemy, a troop of men trailing behind him. Another one shows him in attack mode with his game face on.

The third image shows him duke it out with Jonathan Randall (Menzies) with the two both worn out and bloodied by the brutal warfare.

As revealed in the past, "Outlander" season 3 will see Jamie's struggles after the war. It is hard enough to recuperate from a traumatic battle, but knowing he will no longer see the one he loves completely breaks him.

Of course, it is no secret that Jamie and Claire will find themselves in each other's arms again in a special reunion moment that fans who follow the "Outlander" novels are looking forward to see.

Unfortunately, "Outlander" season 3 will not premiere until September so fans will have to do with the first-look images for now. Filming is underway with the cast and crew set to fly to South Africa to film the rest of the episodes.
