'Outlander' Spoilers: Diana Gabaldon Addresses 'Absolutely Blithering' Rumor That She Is Killing Off Jamie and Claire

"Outlander" author Diana Gabaldon was forced to address a rumor circulating online that she will kill off Jamie and Claire in the tenth book of the series.

Gabaldon was so appalled about what she described as an "absolutely blithering" post that claims that the said book will mark the conclusion of the series by ending the life of the lead characters that fans have followed for years.

The rumor goes on to claim with "great confidence" that Gabaldon is bring the series to a close because "now that I'm a grandmother I don't want to write or do book tours anymore."

On her official Facebook page, she expressed her annoyance toward the claims and set the record straight by teasing her plans for the "Outlander" series:

I really don't use such language, but W.T.F? First off, nobody in their right mind wants to do book tours, but we mostly do it anyway. Secondly, why would being a grandmother affect my writing in any way, shape or form? The kid lives in Colorado and while we do visit frequently, we're not raising him.

Gabaldon went on to say that she is not looking to wrap up the "Outlander" series anytime soon, saying "It'll likely be another five years before I get anywhere near the end of Book Ten," adding that she does not intend to kill off Jamie and Claire even though she wraps the series up.

If one of them happens to die on me, that's another issue, but no expectation of that happening at the moment), and — as is perfectly obvious from the #DailyLines and the recent publication of SEVEN STONES — I write a Whole Lot of Assorted Stuff, and propose to keep right on doing so, thank you very much.

That being said, fans of the "Outlander" books would not have anything to worry about with regard to the fates of Jamie and Claire as well as the lifespan of the series itself. Readers can expect more novels from Gabaldon too.
