Package Explodes at W.Va. Post Office, White Powder Reportedly Dispursed

15 Quarantined in Package Blast

Authorities have evacuated a post office in Ranson, Texas, in Jefferson County saying that a white subsance has been dispurse after an explosion.

Apparently, no one was hurt, and state police are currently investigating.

The Independent Fire Company in the small town of Ranson told the Hagerstown Herald-Mail that the explosion occurred at about 7:45 a.m. Friday at the Ranson Post Office, reported The Associated Press.

There was no immediate comment from Jefferson County emergency services nor State Police.  Ranson lies in a rural area in the state's Eastern Panhandle.

The postmaster is Steve Parrill and he has told the AP that employees were evacuated and State Police were on scene.

Parrill would not provide details on what what happened but said about 20 people work in his branch.
