Photos from the WCC, IMF, WB ''Encounter''

Top officials from the World Council of Churches, the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund met at the Ecumenical Center in Geneva, Switzerland for a "high-level encounter" and roundtable discussion on poverty and economic development.

Attendees included World Bank (WB) president James D. Wolfensohn, International Monetary Fund (IMF) deputy managing director Agustín Carstens, WCC general secretary Samuel Kobia and WCC president from Africa, Agnes Abuom.

Following the meeting, the heads of the three organization released a statement to affirm that the encounters allowed them to improve "their mutual understanding of their positions on development and related issues", while identifying "areas of common ground but also differences of view".
