'Rocket League' Adds Two New Battle-Cars In 'Fast And Furious' DLC

Get ready for some high-octane action because "Rocket League" is adding two iconic "Fast and Furious" cars in the next few days. Game developer Psyonix announced their partnership with Universal Pictures to release two new Battle-Cars based on the action film franchise in the next DLC (downloadable content).

The first of the two premium Battle-Cars is Dominic Toretto's trademark '70 Dodge Charger R/T from 2001's "The Fast and The Furious." Then there's Brian O'Conner's '99 Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 from 2003's "2 Fast 2 Furious."

Both Battle-Cars will come with a new set of wheels and decals. For the Nissan Skyline, there's 2Bold, 2Cool, 2Tuff, Clean Cut, The Clutch, and Home Stretch decals. And as for Dom's Charger, there's Alameda Twin, Flames, Good Graces, Rally, Sinclair, and Wheelman decals. Each car costs $1.99 USD and will be available to download starting Oct. 11 with the arrival of the Fast and the Furious DLC.

They will be joining the Dodge Ice Charger which was added to "Rocket League" following the release of "The Fate of the Furious," the eighth film in the franchise, earlier this year.

Aside from the upcoming Battle Cars, the game also received an assortment of new content with its Sept. 28 Autumn Update. These include a new "Seasonal" Arena, called "Farmstead" that come complete wheat fields, crops, and a barn surrounding the playing field set in Autumn as well as "Standard" versions of the Wasteland and Starbase Arc Arenas.

Also added were the option for transparent goalposts, LAN support for PC players, and an AI-powered, eSports-specific camera that aims to spectate effectively by predicting player moves.

A PC beta for a competitive tournament infrastructure is also set to be rolled out later this year and will be built into the "Rocket League" client. Tournaments will allow players to sign themselves in competitions between eight to 128 teams with the ability to set platform and rank requirements.
