Samsung Galaxy Mega On Rumors: New O-Series Smartphone Spotted on GeekBench

A new Samsung smartphone, the Galaxy Mega On, was sighted getting benchmarked on GeekBench recently.

Rumors have emerged South Korean smartphone manufacturer Samsung is preparing two new models for its upcoming O-series and one of the devices, called the Galaxy Mega On, was spotted going through its testing phase on GeekBench.

The Galaxy Mega On, said to be the first of Samsung's new O-series handsets first reported in August, has already been sent to India for its initial tests and just recently emerged after having been put through its benchmark paces for Android.

The results, dated September 11, shows the new phone carrying the model number, SM-G6000. Sporting a 5.5-inch 720p touchscreen display, the Galaxy Mega On will be powered by a 1.40GHz quad-core ARM Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset supported by 1GB of RAM and 8GB of expandable internal memory.

Running Android 5.1.1 Lollipop at the time of testing, it carries a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front snapper, juiced by a 3,000mAh battery.

According to leaked information, the Galaxy Mega On will measure 151.8mm x 77.5mm x 8.2mm, and weigh 145g.

Its companion handset, the Galaxy Grand On, is reported to be a smaller 5-inch 720p touchscreen smartphone with a 1.3 GH Exynos 3475 CPU, similarly supported by 1GB of RAM and 8GB of expandable internal memory.

With an 8MP main camera, and a 5MP selfie shooter, the Galaxy Grand On will also run Android 5.1 Lollipop, measure 142mm x 71.9mm x 8.5mm, and weigh 140g.

Samsung has yet to release information on when it plans to unveil both O-series handsets, and what their price points will be in the market.

Given their similar specs to many of the other handsets already launched by the South Korean tech manufacturer, it is also unclear which market Samsung intends to target its O-series for.
