6 things you should know about the number 666

1. The number involves satanic worship

Most scholars believe that Revelation 13, which contains all the Bible says about the number, tells us that at some point in the future, a person or system — or perhaps a combination of the two — will require all of the human race to receive a mark on their right hand or their foreheads in order to participate in the global economy.

Revelation 13 states: “The second beast was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that the image could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed. It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name. This calls for wisdom. Let the person who has insight calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. That number is 666.”

Greg Laurie, the senior pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, California, said he believes the vision unveiled in Revelation 13 will emerge in the form of a totalitarian economic policy that will ultimately result in the compulsory worship of Satan.

“The Antichrist is going to introduce a cashless society,” he told audiences in 2021. “The endgame of this is to cause people to engage in devil worship.”

Laurie predicted that “the Antichrist’s economic policy will be very simple.” He summarized said policy as “Take my mark and worship me or starve to death. … No mark, no merchandise. … No seal, no sale.”
