Sony PlayStation Franchise Sale Brings Ubisoft's 'Tom Clancy'

A brand new week has arrived and that means Sony is shifting focus to a new series for its Franchise Sale. This week, the company offers discounts for Ubisoft's "Tom Clancy" series.

Andy Yen, digital commerce manager at Sony Interactive Entertainment, announced the latest Franchise Sale on the PlayStation Blog Tuesday. This week's sale provides many options for PlayStation 3 owners, including "End War," "Ghost Recon," "Rainbow Six," and "Splinter Cell."

Meanwhile, PS4 owners can only take advantage of discounts on "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege." Both its regular and Gold Edition are on sale.

The PSP offers, on the other hand, provides players with five games to choose from. The selection includes "End War," "Ghost Recon," "Rainbow Six," and "Splinter Cell Essentials."

No PS Vita titles, however, are up for sale. In addition, Ubisoft's latest entry to the series, "The Division," is also clearly missing, but that's probably because it's too early to put the title on sale despite the "Tom Clancy" theme this week. The "Tom Clancy" games are based on the author's work. The American author co-founded Ubisoft's wholly owned subsidiary Red Storm Entertainment.

In addition to Ubisoft's "Tom Clancy" series, Sony is also offering JK Rowling's "Harry Potter" series on sale, which is just in time for the boy wizard's 15th anniversary. All eight movies in the franchise, along with the "Harry Potter Complete Collection" and a "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (Extended Version)," can be bought at a lower price as follows:

The Franchise Sale is now on its sixth week. Last week, Sony featured Konami's "Metal Gear Solid" and "Transformers" series. The week before that it was Activision's "Call of Duty" and "Planet of the Apes" series.

Sony PlayStation Franchise Sale featuring Ubisoft's "Tom Clancy" and "Harry Potter" ends on Monday, April 11. Next week, the company will be putting the spotlight on LEGO.
