'Street Fighter V' DLC: Single-Player Story Mode Details Revealed; Decapre Spotted in Cinematic Expansion Trailer?

Capcom has revealed more details about its upcoming fighting game "Street Fighter V." Specifically, the update takes a break from fighting mechanics and such and instead deals with the game's story component.

In a post at Sony's PlayStation Blog, Capcom Associate Producer Peter Rosas announced "Street Fighter V's" single-player story details, which has two main components. First, there's the individual character stories and then there's the cinematic story expansion.

Each of "Street Fighter V's" character has his or her own backstory. This will reveal the character's reason for fighting and their relationship with the other fighters in the game. Capcom artist Bengus did the illustrations in a "colorful, throwback style [that] fits perfectly with the background tales we want to tell about each character," says Rosas.

Capcom revealed in a separate press release that players who can complete the single-player content will be rewarded with Fight Money. The in-game currency can be used to buy a new DLC character.

These character stories serve as an introduction, and the game's full story will be weaved together in an upcoming cinematic story expansion.

Cinematic story expansion

The cinematic story expansion will come in the form of cutscenes that will take players "deep into the Street Fighter action and mythology." It will reveal what happened between "Street Fighter IV" and "Street Fighter III."

Rosas says the story will focus on M. Bison and Shadaloo. A trailer of "Street Fighter V's" cinematic story expansion can be viewed below.

Speaking of the trailer, keen-eyed fans have started a rumor that Shadaloo Doll Decapre appeared in the video. EventHubs reported that the fans saw Decapre toward the end of the trailer, in particular the part where the video zoomed in on Cammy's face. A few frames show an extreme close-up of her eye where fans say they have seen a reflection of a figure who appears to be Decapre upon closer inspection.

Based on this, the publication suggests that Shadaloo Doll could appear in the game's story mode. This isn't confirmed, though, so fans will have to stay tuned for Capcom's future announcements.

"Street Fighter V's" cinematic story expansion is scheduled to release in June 2016 as a free update available to all players. Meanwhile, the game itself will launch on Feb. 16 to the PS4 and PC.
