'Supergirl' Season 3 Episode 5 Spoilers: Lena Luthor Gets Blamed for Lead Poisoning

While Lena Luthor's (Kathie McGrath) lead bomb saved the day in the season 2 finale of "Supergirl" earlier this year, she will now be blamed for its supposed unintended effects in next week's episode of "Supergirl" season 3.

There is no denying that Lena's creation, the lead bomb, benefited National City in "Supergirl" season 2 finale as it caused the demise of the Daxamites. While L-Corp CEO had all the best intentions, it turns out that things may have not really turned out for the best.

According to spoiler reports, "Supergirl" season 3 episode 5 will feature the return of Morgan (Adrian Pasdar), the new CEO of CatCo Worldwide Media, who will put the blame on Lena for the lead poisoning of some children. This will have Lena thinking that she may, indeed, be at fault as her design could have been flawed after all.

While Kara/Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) will team up with Samantha Arias (Odette Annable) to clear Lena's name, the teaser for the upcoming episode suggests that Lena will take matters into her own hand.

As seen in the trailer, she pulls out a gun and aims at Morgan in what appears to be a meeting between the two bigwigs. However, as the teaser also shows that Lena is aboard a plane that is about to crash, it is apparent that Lena will eventually need the help of Supergirl, who is suspected to be the only one who can save Lena from her imminent demise.

Meanwhile, it is also speculated that next week's episode of "Supergirl" will feature the return of Mon-El (Chris Wood), who had to aboard a spacepod in order to escape the effects of the lead bomb in the season finale of "Supergirl" season 2. While there is a possibility that the character may return as a full-fledged superhero, some suspect that he may return as a bad guy after the spacepod was sucked into a wormhole of unknown.

No matter how Mon-El will return, though, one thing is for sure: The character will change how things work in the series, according to Wood himself.

"You know [his return] affects everyone. This guy who was one thing is now another thing and what he carries with him — it provides a different perspective to what [the other characters are] doing and it sort of changes the dynamic of the group in another way. It definitely creates a domino effect," Wood teased in an earlier interview.

"Supergirl" season 3 episode 5 airs this Monday evening on The CW at 8/7C.
