'Switched at Birth' Season 4 Premiere Date, Spoilers: What to Expect When Show Returns in January

ABC Family's hit TV drama series "Switched at Birth" is ready to kick off the year with a premiere episode for its brand new 4th season. Apparently, the new year won't be merry for one of its characters.

In the recently released sneak peek for the show's primer, Bay (Vanessa Marano) is found talking with Emmett (Sean Beardy) wherein she's doing some explaining on why she took the blame for what Daphne (Katie LeClerc) has done.

Bay has to tell the police she was the one who vandalized the property, and not Daphne. If otherwise, the latter would have to serve time due to her past record.

Given the situation, spoiler reports suggest that this hasty (yet altruistic) decision from Bay will greatly affect her personal life and her future. Now, instead of joining Emmett in Los Angeles for college, Bay will have to take a different route as a consequence for the thing she has "done."

"I didn't want to be talked out of it and I knew if it didn't go through with it, I was going to regret it - every single day knowing I could've done something, but I didn't," Bay explains to Emmett who was clearly not pleased with what he heard.

CarterMatt meanwhile wrote that this situation of Bay taking the fall is "just the tip of the iceberg" for the upcoming season.

Fans would also find out how the characters "deal with life after graduation" as well as their relationships and "what their lives could hold looking far into the future."

"Switched at Birth" returns to the small screen on Tuesday, Jan. 6 at 9 p.m. on ABC Family.
