Margaret "Muffi" Lavigne and Chris Plum have lost much to muscular dystrophy, including the ability to walk and breathe on their own. Formerly well-traveled, they each moved to the Hospital for Special Care in New Britain, Conn., where they live under continuing medical supervision.
