The suburb where Crooks was raised is only about an hour's drive from the location of the shooting.
The outlet reported that Pennsylvania records show Crooks’ parents were licensed counselors, and his father’s LinkedIn page shows that he worked as a local behavioral health provider.
Dan Grzybek, a representative of the area on the county council, told the Times he met the shooter’s parents when canvassing. He recalled they were open to listening to him.
