5. Top Trump administration officials visit Gaza

In an X post on Friday, U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Peace Missions, Steve Witkoff, announced that he and U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee “met yesterday with Israeli officials to discuss the humanitarian situation in Gaza.”

"[W]e spent over five hours inside Gaza — level setting the facts on the ground, assessing conditions, and meeting with @GHFUpdates and other agencies. The purpose of the visit was to give @POTUS a clear understanding of the humanitarian situation and help craft a plan to deliver food and medical aid to the people of Gaza."

Huckabee added in a separate post on X Friday that the diplomats’ visits to Gaza also included briefings from the Israeli Defense Forces.

At Thursday’s White House press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told members of the press that Witkoff and Huckabee also met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu where they addressed “the topic of delivering much-needed food and aid to Gaza.”
