A popular YouTube project is where people film one second every day over a period of time, normally a year, and edit it together into a fast-moving scrapbook of that part of their lives.
You'd be surprised how much information you can get from just a one-second clip, like what they're wearing, how they've cut their hair, where they are and what they're doing. There's a clear difference between a one-second clip of someone standing in the Alps and another at a rock concert.
This "second-a-day" video starts out like one you'd stumble upon on YouTube. A British girl is about to blow out the candles on her birthday cake. She's now 9, and her life progresses as you think a 9-year-old's would.
However, second by second, we get a feeling that something is increasingly off, ending in a grim reality that is indeed real life for children around the world.
