'Vikings' Season 3 Spoilers, News: Raid on Paris Will Split Brave Men of Kattegat

By now, every fan of the hit historical drama series "Vikings" might have already known that the new mighty king of Denmark, Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) and his brave warriors will gear up in preparation for the great raid in Paris.

Although viewers have seen how relatively easy for the Vikings to subdue parts of Great Britain, this might not be the case when they go up against the fabled walled city of Paris.

A report from ETOnline (via Design&Trend) cited series creator Michael Hirst informing the publication that Ragnar and his men will be quite surprised with the challenge waiting up ahead.

"Paris was built by the Romans to be impenetrable – you simply get into Paris, so the Vikings, despite their reputation for inventiveness in battle and fury and violence, they find it a huge obstacle," Hirst said.

With this new level of difficulty, the Vikings might start to doubt their capacity.

"It starts to divide them because they possibly haven't realized how tough it was going to be," the show creator added. "Many, many tensions develop inside the camp."

Though fans may believe they have already known everything, Hirst noted that they may have to think again.

"You should never second-guess what's going to happen. This season is full of shocks and surprises and reversals," Hirst warns. "You just don't know what is around the corner."

Much has yet to be found out when "Vikings" Season 3 airs its premiere episode on Thursday, Feb. 19, at 10 p.m. on History Channel.
