Widower Reunited With Stolen Camera Containing Priceless Memories of Late Wife (VIDEO)
When Dave Lacey's camera was stolen in a home burglary last year, the loss was especially painful. His wife Erica Werdel-Lacey died of cancer at age 30 in 2011, and the camera contained photos of their journey together, from their wedding to her funeral.
Lacey figured the camera was gone, but he received a joyous surprise thanks to police in Santa Ana, Calif. Through an unrelated burglary, police tracked down the suspect and, among a trove of stolen goods, they found Lacey's camera. They didn't know who it belonged to, but one officer recognized the neighborhood where several shots were taken. Police also discovered a stack of pawn shop receipts.
Officers eventually found Lacey and led him to the pawn shop in question. He soon walked out with his camera and the photos he'll treasure for a lifetime.
