Wayne Grudem Special Series

Republicans, Democrats and the Timeless Truths of the Bible

Manifesto

The Christian Post (CP) is launching a new series to help evangelical voters understand the foundational policies behind major issues facing voters today. Noted theologian Wayne Grudem — one of the most respected voices in evangelical scholarship — has written these policy backgrounders to prepare voters to make informed decisions in future elections.

The series is not about political personalities — it's about the background facts, including the biblical perspective, on each issue, from tax policy and the forms of taxation the law allows to the monetary policy that drives inflation.

The series opens with a look at Israel: what the Bible says, more than 100 years of global policymaking behind the U.S. position today, and where the current Republican and Democratic platforms stand.

Written from the perspective of orthodox biblical scholarship, these articles offer readers a biblical foundation for evaluating both parties' platforms, deciding how to vote on the issues, and assessing today's politicians.

While CP considers Grudem's biblical perspectives important reading for today's voters, this series does not necessarily represent the company's editorial position on these issues.

Our purpose is to help readers have the Power to Understand the Times.

What is a 'fair share' of taxes?

The phrase "fair share" appears again and again in Democratic Party talking points, but the platform never says how much a fair share actually is. When you work through the four kinds of tax Americans do consider fair, wealthy Americans already pay far more than any of them would require.

Why are prices still so high? Tracing it back to one root cause

Voters keep asking why prices haven't come down. Wayne Grudem says the answer starts with the money supply, not "price gouging" — and argues that when government spending drives up prices, it's a form of stealing from every citizen, especially the poor.

Israel, US and the judgment of God on Iran

Since 1948, Israel has faced constant claims that it is an illegitimate 'occupier' of Palestinian land. Theologian Wayne Grudem lays out the biblical and historical case for Israel's right to the land — and argues that the Israel/U.S. military campaign against Iran was not only self-defense, but divine justice.
