A Road Trip For Damon & Gang, Stefan Learns About His Past In Oct. 22 Episode Of 'The Vampire Diaries'
In the next episode of "The Vampire Diaries" titled "Age of Innocence," to be shown on October 22, Damon, Bonnie & Alaric go on a road trip that is planned by the scheming Lily. Valerie's past will be revealed while Stefan will learn about his own past.
The previous episode of "The Vampire Diaries" had many things to tackle. First of all was the placement of Elena's body as she will be sleeping for 60 years. Next was Bonnie's plan of letting Matt die a 'temporary Death.'
The episode also had Caroline being captured and tortured by the Heretics at the behest of Lily. Things were tense as Stefan and Damon could not do anything because Lily is their mother. Bonnie is becoming a central character and is fitting well with Damon, Alaric, and Matt.

Now that Lily is hell bent on revenge, it is left to Damon, Bonnie and Alaric to figure out how to stop her. Not knowing that it is Lily's plan, the three take a road trip. This might be Lily's strategy to divide her enemies.
The official synopsis of the episode 'Age of Innocence' is as follows: "In the aftermath of a clever plan orchestrated by Lily (Annie Wersching), Damon (Ian Somerhalder) sets off on a road trip with Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Alaric (Matt Davis) in search of leverage they can use against his mother. Meanwhile, Caroline (Candice King), who is being held hostage by the Heretics, learns some shocking information about Valerie's past, while Stefan (Paul Wesley) learns a few unexpected details about his own past from Lily. Finally, Alaric turns to Bonnie for her help after coming clean about a secret he's been keeping."
'Steroline' is no longer happening because after a three-year time jump shown in the second episode, Caroline was found to be engaged to somebody other than Stefan. Though viewers do not know who her fiancée is, it cannot be Stefan as Caroline gets annoyed even if Stefan's name is mentioned. Who is Caroline's fiancée? Will it be revealed in this episode? It could be Matt or Tyler, or even Alaric & Jeremy. Could it be Enzo?
This episode seems to be big on secrets as Caroline while in Lily's captivity learns about Valerie's past. It remains to be seen what secret Stefan learns about himself from his mother. Could it be something that will turn him against Damon and get him into the Heretic's fold?
