Abandoned Ferrari Up for Auction

A Ferrari Enzo is set to go up for action in Dubai after it was abandoned by its owner for close to two years.

The super-car is one of only 399 that have ever been made and sells for a modest $1 million. The auction is set to take place on April 25.

Authorities stated that the car's original owner was from Britain and that it was impounded due to an accruement of unpaid parking tickets, Mohammed Saif Al Zaffin, Traffic Department Director, told the Daily Mail.

"The Ferrari Enzo, wanted by Interpol, was seized by the CID. Its British owner had left it in the parking lot for more than 20 months after traffic fines had piled up," he said.

It will not be the only sports car that will be up for auction. There will also be three other Ferraris, seven Porsches, Corvettes, Mercedes, BMWs, Infinities, Range Rovers and Dodges.

Saif Al Zaffin explained that the Dubai police force can auction off any car it has had for six months or more. He also stated that some of the cars were stolen or involved in other crimes, while others were confiscated for debt repayment defaults, traffic fines or were simply abandoned.

It's not suspected that the British owner was wanted for anything other than the parking fines. It is not an uncommon practice to abandon one's vehicle in Dubai due to the fact that in Dubai having debt is a criminal offence punishable by a jail sentence.

It is also not likely that it will be hard to sell the Enzo. Not only is it one of the most sought after cars in the world, but it also offers a high standard of performance.

The car contains a massive aluminum 12 cylinder engine which is able to produce 660 brake horse power and a top speed of 217mph. It can reach 0-60 mph in only 3.4 seconds.
