Activision's upcoming "HeroPants" game takes place after the events of the sequel film, where gamers can play as SpongeBob and his friends, Patrick Star, Sandy Cheeks, Squidward Tentacles, Mr. Krabs and Plankton. The gamer leads the gang on a quest to save Bikini Bottom when SpongeBob's dreams come to life.

The official game synopsis release stated: "Along the way they'll visit alternate forms of Bikini Bottom as it is warped by SpongeBob's mind into prehistoric, war zone and candy-coated versions of the town."

The game will come with exploration games, puzzles, combat segments, boss battles and lots of items for the gamer to discover. The gamer will be able to transform into superhero versions of the characters and defeat the enemy with their special abilities. The Xbox 360 version of the game is even said to come in four-player co-op play.

"SpongeBob: HeroPants" will be launched on Feb. 3.

"The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water" will follow after the game and hit theaters on Feb. 6. It will feature vocal actors such as Tom Kenny as SpongeBob, Bill Fagerbakke as Patrick, Antonio Banderas as Buger-Beard the Pirate, Clancy Brown as Mr. Krabs, Rodger Bumpass as Squidward and more.
