Adele's Heartbreaking 'Someone Like You' Video Released

Adele has released the music video for “Someone Like You,” the powerful number that was said to steal the MTV VMAS this year.

Long anticipated, the music video features Adele in black and white walking around Paris.

The album, entitled “21,” focused on the singer’s relationships, and the lyrics of “Someone Like You” are a powerful insight to her pain.

“I can imagine being about 40 [years old] and looking for him again, and turning up and he’s settled and he’s got a beautiful wife, and some beautiful kids, and he’s completely happy and I’m still on my own. That’s kind of about that…”

“Someone Like You” became a trending topic on Twitter the day after her performance on MTV’s VMAS.

The record-breaking singer has stolen hearts across the globe singing about her own broken heart. “21” has sold over 3 million copies within one calendar year, and has helped earn the singer three Guinness World Record entries.

“Her unique vocal talents have rightly propelled her to stardom on both sides of the Atlantic,” said Editor-in-Chief for Guinness World Records, Craig Glenday. “And her honest attitude is refreshing.”

His statement continued, “Adele is a wonderful role model for aspiring singers- and for all young people.”

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Adele described meeting Beyonce, who told the Brit, “You’re amazing! When I listen to you I feel like I’m listening to God.”

Often employing a gospel choir, Adele’s songs are instantly recognizable, and described by the singer as “dark blues-y gospel disco tunes.”

Adele is widely praised for her no-gimmicks and non-sexualized music and image. During an interview with Q magazine, she said she chooses not to sexualize her image because it does not fit with her image.

Adele has recently recovered from a throat condition that caused numerous concert cancelations. Due to popular demand, additional tickets have been released for her performances in the U.K. for the month of October.
