'Agent Carter' News, Spoilers: Teaser Trailer Reveals 'Black Widow' Program

The latest promo for the fifth episode of the hit crime fighting drama series "Marvel's Agent Carter" created a huge buzz as it hinted further the major connection shared by the ABC show with the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

This particular connecting piece points out to the well-known "Black Widow" program in Russia of which the already famous Natasha Romanoff (played by Scarlett Johansson in the live-action MCU films) was trained.

But since Peggy's narrative delves into the earlier 1940s era, the show will introduce Dottie instead – a quite pleasant neighbor who is actually a deadly trained assassin, just like the present-day Romanoff.

Speaking with IGN, showrunners Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas reveal details about Dottie, the Black Widow program and how will it help expand the already exciting storyline of Agent Carter.

"That's correct! She is a product of the Black Widow Program," said Fazekas.

"But we, in the series, are not actually calling her a Black Widow," Butters chimed in.

The latter, went on to reveal that Dottie, who according to the publication will be played by actress Bridget Regan, will shed light on how the program was like during her time.

"The fact is, the great and exciting thing for us is we're showing the precursor to the Black Widow Program, as you will see in the upcoming episode, 105," the executive producer added.

For this week's showing of the Hayley Atwell-led TV series, a synopsis was posted on The Futon Critic where it reads:

"Peggy is finally trusted with a mission and calls upon her trusted Howling Commandos squad for backup. But her cover could be at risk when SSR Chief Dooley also sends Agent Thompson with her."

"Marvel's Agent Carter" Episode 5 titled "The Iron Ceiling" airs this Tuesday, Feb. 3 at 9 p.m. on ABC.
