Ali Landry on Mario Lopez's Infidelity: 'Best Thing That Ever Happened to Me'

Ali Landry went through a tumultuous relationship with Mario Lopez, but after the relationship was over, each found love with another partner. Now Landry has said that Lopez's infidelity was "the best thing that ever happened to me."

Landry and Lopez were together for six years before deciding to get married in 2004. Unfortunately, Landry learned of his infidelity right after the wedding, and the couple's marriage was annulled. Landry has since remarried to Alejandro Monteverde, and Lopez is engaged to Courtney Mazza.

"We were together for six years, but as soon as I found out numerous things- like, the floodgate opened and the water just came rushing through- so once I found out all this stuff and I got proof of everything, I immediately [ended it]," Landry told Access Hollywood.

Marriage is something Landry does not take lightly, and neither was the decision to end it with Lopez.

"The sacrament of marriage for me is very, very important. I never even knew anyone who did that to someone else- didn't even know that was possible, like [from] someone you trusted and loved," she explained.

Now though, Landry is happily married to Monteverde, and the couple has two children. Daughter Estela was born in 2007, and son Marcelo arrived in 2011. The couple actively works together on film projects with Christian themes. Faith is incredibly important to Landry and Monteverde, and they have spoken publicly about their devotion.

"I feel like today, I am a better person because of it and I really look back and think that that was the best thing that ever happened to me. It changed me as a woman, you know, just the way I sort of walk in this world. Something was really terrible, but something absolutely wonderful came from it. That's all you can really ask for," Landry added.
