'American Crime' News, Update: Emmy-Nominated Cast Members Reveal Season 2 Storyline and Characters

The next season of ABC's critically-acclaimed TV drama series "American Crime" was previously reported to take place in the Midwest, where a disturbing incident at an elite prep school involved sexual identity and disparity in the school systems.

The show's main cast members, Timothy Hutton and Felicity Huffman, recently spoke about the show after it received 10 Emmy nominations. Hutton revealed a bit more of their roles in the next chapter of the anthology series.

"I haven't read anything yet, but I know that the story is going to involve an incident that happens involving students at a high school and a private high school in the same town," the actor told Variety. "I'm going to be playing the basketball coach at the private school."

As for Huffman, she plays the headmistress of the private school.

"We work at the same place and an incident happens that we both have to put out full attention into. I'm not sure what the dynamic of that relationship is yet. I'm excited to find out more," the 54-year-old said.

"It's going to be great. John [Ridley] has such a different take on this and it has a different feel, and we're going to be working with a lot of younger actors so Tim and I will be the old guard — particularly Tim, when I say old," Huffman added.

Besides Hutton and Huffman, a handful of their Season 1 cast mates are also returning for the sophomore run of "American Crime." Returning actors include Regina King, Lili Taylor, Elvis Nolasco, and Richard Cabral.
