Andrew Luck 2017 News: Quarterback Steps Back From NFL Due to Injury

Andrew Luck had taken a step back from playing the field due to a bad injury. Meanwhile, there is no definite timetable for when Luck will return to the National Football League (NFL).

Last Wednesday, the Indianapolis Colts confirmed on Twitter that Ballard has announced their quarterback tapping out of the NFL games due to his painful shoulder injury.

"GM Chris Ballard announces a cortisone shot and rest for Andrew Luck this week after soreness. No timeline on his return," the post reads.

Luck has been back to practice with the Indianapolis Colts for only about two weeks, and now, he's stepping out again with no definite timeline to return. However, Ballard remains positive that Luck is on the right track for a full recovery.

"In terms of rehab ... It's been going really well. His velocity is good, his motion is good, all that is coming along at a good rate. It's the soreness right now that we're dealing with and that we have to get through," said Ballard on the Colts' official website, CBS Sports confirmed.

However, Ballard believes that keeping Luck out of the game, for now, is the best decision to make in regards to his career.

"His long-term success is what we're looking for. Much like with any player, that's what's important to us," said Ballard.

When Ballard was asked when Luck will be returning to the NFL games, he simply said that he has no timeline on it. The same answer was given by luck himself when NFL asked him whether he would be able to play when the Colts match up with Tennessee Titans in November.

Luck was last seen on the field in December last year, and it appears that the team will have to wait until 2018 to have him back as their quarterback. For the meantime, the Indianapolis Colts will have Jacoby Brissett to take his place on the field.
