Apple's latest generation phone, the iPhone 4S, released in October, is seeing immense retail success. The smartphone sold over 4 million handsets and continues to experience sell outs at a number of retail locations.

Wireless networks that carry the iPhone 4S, and others, noted that they have benefitted from the sale of the iPhone.

AT&T reported that it had impressive sales of not only the iPhone 4S but it also continues to sell the iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS at record numbers.

Sprint recently acquired the iPhone with the release of the iPhone 4S, and reported that it broke records for best day of sale on Oct. 14 when the 4S released.

The iPhone 4S is especially noted for its high resolution, 8-megapixel camera.
