The Crossover

In fact, executive producer Wendy Mericle noted that the significance of Flashpoint in The Flash season 3 will have something to do with the events in Arrow season 5. There were no further details revealed about the show, but she added that there will be characters who be influenced by the series of events from the Flashpoint plot.

"Arrow" Season 5 will be going back in time, taking place in Russia. This is where Oliver meets the Russian mob, Bratva, and builds up friendship with them.

There are reports noting that the crossover with four different parts will focus mainly on Supergirl, also known as Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist). The heroes from these four parts of the crossover will be getting together to fight the threat coming to the city.

Furthermore, Mericle mentioned that Arrow Season 5 will be set four and a half months after what happened in Season 4. This time, however, Star City will have a higher risk of being terrorized because of the presence of the mob and having Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) as mayor of the city. Oliver will be needing support from the newly-formed group of Team Arrow: Wild Dog played by Rick Gonzalez, Vigilante portrayed by Josh Segarra and Artemis played by Madison McLaughlin.

Team Arrow

Aside from the new members of Team Arrow, Arsenal, also known as Roy Harper in the show and is portrayed by Colton Haynes, will also be an asset to help Oliver in their quest to fight the bad guys. Harper was last seen in the third season when he played dead to get out of the city. He also did a quick part in the previous season's show when Oliver Queen was elected mayor. Now that everything has calmed down, it may be time for Queen to let Harper get back into the city.

On the other hand, there might be a different angle on why Harper should come back to the city. Thea (Willa Holland) might be needing encouragement for her to get back into action and become Speedy again.

"Arrow" Season 5 will be aired on October 5, 2016 on the CW Network.
