In their journey in the competition so far, Athletic Bilbao have already eliminated a Spanish club when they faced Valencia in the previous round.
Athletic Club held the home tie as they won 1-0, thanks to a goal from Raul Garcia in the 20th minute to give them a 1-0 aggregate advantage heading into the away leg.
In the second leg, they saw their lead vanish in the first half after goals from Santi Mina and Adrellan Santos saw the tie sway to Valencia's favor.
However, Bilbao fought back valiantly and found Adruiz to score on the 75th minute to tie the aggregate to 2-2 and Athletic would go on to win thanks to the away goals rule.
Now they are back to face Sevilla and are hoping they have enough to land a spot in the semi-finals.
On the other side, Sevilla booked their spot in the quarters after eliminating Basel.
Against the Swiss heavyweights, the Spanish club held their rivals goalless in the first leg and gave them a great chance to snatch the win on their home ground.
When the game was played at Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, they did exactly that as they blasted three goals against Basel coming from Adil Rami and a brace from Kevin Gameiro to give them a 3-0 win and now are one step closer to one of the elite titles in Europe.
