Atlanta Falcons vs San Francisco 49ers Live Stream, Preview: How to Watch NFL Football Online

The San Francisco 49ers will begin Week 9 hostilities for NFL football with a home game against the Atlanta Falcons. The team is struggling big time this season, and at 2-6, they're looking to make a push in the second half of the season to at least finish on a strong note. It should be an interesting game to see if the 49ers can go for win number 3 before taking the bye for Week 10.

The Falcons, meanwhile, are somewhat fading a bit after a hot 5-0 start. Currently at 6-2, the team hopes to go back to their winning ways and what better way to do that than face a lowly 49ers squad. Losses to the Buccaneers, Saints, and Titans were all products of complacency, but their chances of winning against the 49ers are greater than the other way around.

San Francisco is a whole lot different in terms of lineup heading into Sunday's game. The offensive squad may actually have gone down to a lower level after veteran tight end Vernon Davis was let go and 2008 Humanitarian Bowl MVP and quarterback Colin Kaepernick was replaced by Blaine Gabbert. It's kind of surprising really to hear the news that Gabbert will be starting this crucial game because the 10th overall pick of the 2011 NFL Draft hasn't started a game in two years. It is baffling to think why the 49ers will go for someone who is ranked last in passer rating, yards per attempt, and completion percentage in the league to lead a team that is visibly struggling in their offense.

The only thing that favors San Francisco in this game is the tendency of the Falcons to make turnovers late in the game, which everyone has seen over their two losses. In their five victories, they averaged 32 points while turning the ball just five teams; which meant they only had one turnover for each of those games. In their two losses, the scoring average went down to 17, while they committed nine total turnovers in their last three games, including those two defeats.

The main question heading into Sunday Night Football is whether the Falcons continue their slide or if 49ers simply have given up their season.
