East rivals meet.
Two of the top three teams in the Eastern Conference do battle as the Atlanta Hawks host the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Philips Arena in the National Basketball Association.
This matchup is on April 1, 2016 at 8:00 PM ET.
Both teams have already secured their spot in the playoffs and are now playing for pride and momentum with only a few games remaining in the regular season.
The Cavaliers are the top team in the East and are looking to fend off the Toronto Raptors who are trying to get the first place, while the Hawks are third and are only 1.0 games ahead of the Boston Celtics who are third. The Miami Heat and Charlotte Hornets are also trying to take Atlanta's position so there is no time to rest for either of the top teams in the East.
For Cleveland, they want to keep the first spot in order to keep the home court advantage in the East.
Everyone knows how important the top spot and home court is when the playoffs come so expect the Cavaliers to keep the momentum and pressure going as they finish off the campaign.
As for the Hawks, the difference between third and sixth in the league when the playoffs come also comes down to home court advantage.
In the third spot they hold home court advantage in the first round so they will surely want to maintain their spot.
They have the pieces to be an elite squad but they are also trying to get all the advantage they need to get as far as they can in the playoffs.
So far, the two teams have only met once in the league, with the Cavaliers taking a 109-97 win in Ohio.
After this meeting, they are set to clash again in 10 days for their final battle of the regular season.
